Heading on Pattaya

The city of Pattaya located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 150 km southeast of Bangkok, is a seaside resort. By visiting Pattaya, you will discover the beaches that border the gulf. Jomtien Beach is a family beach and also an ideal destination for water sports and seaside massages. The giant Buddha at Wat Khao Phra Bat watches over the city, and the wooden Wang Boran Sanctuary of Truth pays homage to Buddhist and Hindu art and architecture. A peaceful fishing village until the 1960s, it is now lined with hotel complexes, tall buildings, shopping malls, cabarets and 24-hour clubs. Not far away, the hillside Wat Phra Yai temple houses an 18-meter-tall golden Buddha statue. The area also offers several designer golf courses, some of which overlook Pattaya Bay. Popular on the East Gulf Coast of Thailand. More so, Pattaya has become famous for its huge number of go-go bars and beer bars and strip clubs, which at night attract an adult-only crowd. But local authorities have developed attractions and activities that are increasingly appealing to families. Since then, the resort has attracted local families and vacationers from afar. In recent years, local authorities have made efforts that have greatly improved the quality of beaches. The plethora of hotels and guesthouses, and easy access from the capital and the airport, make Pattaya a popular weekend getaway. With over five million visitors each year, Pattaya is also able to offer an excellent range of international cuisines as well as a wide variety of activities and places to visit. Its population is a colorful mix of nationalities and ethnicities from all walks of life

Pattaya is popular not only as a seaside resort and for its entertainment, nightlife and shopping, but also for its wide variety of activities: from golf and horseback riding to bungee jumping, go-karting and shooting – not to mention a wide variety of water sports like scuba diving, jet-skiing, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, kite surfing, and more. Pattaya is also very popular as a conference center, convention center and seminar room, and there are rumors among wine professionals of the construction of a future racecourse, a casino and a monorail train line. It goes without saying that the high-speed rail link between Bangkok and Pattaya (and vice versa) could make the journey much more user-friendly than it is now

Walking Street Pattaya

Located by the sea in the south of the city, the famous Walking Street of Pattaya is a street a little less than a kilometer long (760 meters to be exact) which during the day offers very little interest. except for a few restaurants and direct access between Pattaya beach and the Bali Hai pier allowing you to take a boat to go to the very pretty island of Koh Larn, for example. On the other hand, around 7:00 p.m. the street becomes completely pedestrianized and changes its face to become one of the liveliest and most festive streets in Thailand where hundreds or even thousands of people gather in search of an evening. frenzied or simply come out of curiosity, and where, in the light of neon lights, restaurants, bars, nightclubs or even gogo-bars follow one another. Between admirers and detractors, there are many debates about it as to its usefulness or even its interest. Anyway, everyone agrees on one point, its dilapidated appearance and the need to carry out some renovations (some gossips will even go so far as to say that there is only to shave everything!) . If for the moment very little information has been given, we have seen some 3D pictures appear of what the street could look like in the future: The mayor of Pattaya, Mr. Sontaya Khunpluem has apparently issued a mixed opinion on these first 3D renderings and engineers and architects should come back to him with adjustments in the days or weeks to come. He nevertheless announced that it was necessary for the Walking Street to get a makeover, while maintaining the “flavor” that made it famous. Although it is difficult to deduce anything from this, it seems clear that the government wants to improve the image of the city and go further in their announced desire to make Pattaya a family destination for locals and tourists. It also seems unlikely that if the government invests heavily in renovating the place, most of the entertainment venues currently there will be allowed to stay there (indeed there is better than a gogo bar for a family activity a Sunday afternoon). But then, is Walking Street set to disappear or simply to be moved? Case to follow!
